San Francisco's Asian Art Museum Redesigned

As part of its 50th anniversary celebrations, San Francisco’s Asian Art Museum has announced its expansion and renovation come 2017. The design will be done by wHY Architecture and they are proposing a new 12,000-square-foot exhibition pavilion, reconfigure the existing galleries and modernize its education and public space.
“We are a hub for art, education, culture and community,” said Jay Xu, director and CEO of the Asian Art Museum. “We derive our inspiration from the enduring beauty of our superb collection to serve audiences of today and tomorrow. As we envision our next 50 years, we see powerful relevancy in fostering human understanding and cultural appreciation by sharing art and cultural experiences.” via http://www.architectmagazine.com
