Zaha Hadid Hotel + Residences in Qatar

Zaha Hadid Architects has announced the plans to build a 38 story hotel as part of a new coastal city in Qatar. The building’s conceptual design is based on the form of a flower desert called hyacinth, a flowering plant native to the Arabian Gulf region. This resulted in a nine-pointed shape with a podium at its base and the top floors featuring “interwoven fluid geometries”.
